Why are auto insurance companies allowed to get away with such criminal practices?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

After moving into inner Atlanta because I've grown tired of a completely car dependent lifestyle, my auto insurance went from 70 dollars a month to nearly 160 based solely on my location.

Not only is this unfair and stupid, it seems to me to defy logic. I would think the suburban commuter who is spending lots of time in his car every day is more prone to claims than me, who barely has a reason to use my car anymore.

Ridiculous.

Take a close look at your policy to see which coverages went up. I'll bet there was a big jump in comprehensive coverage, which covers theft. Also, metropolitan areas are almost always higher than suburban areas because of more congestion which causes more accidents. Insurance companies don't just randomly pick rates for certain areas, they have to back it up with their claims data when filing their rates with the state insurance department. If you really feel this is criminal then file a complaint with your state insurance department. if they feel the increase is not justified they will investigate and if your company is really doing something wrong it will get rectified.

The inner city has heavier traffic, and usually higher risk of theft. Companies keep records dating back decades, and do underwriting every year based on records of theft and accidents in every area of the country, on every model and year of vehicle sold, for all types of driving by all age groups with all different levels of insurance.

Just think how happy you would be if you moved from a high-risk area into a low-risk one, and had a premium decrease!

Insurance rates are based largely on where you live/drive. They have determined (and probably correctly) that their risks for claims are higher there than where ever you lived/worked previously. BTW, I don't particularly like insurance companies but surely you know that they are not practicing "Criminal practices".

You simply don't have a clue about the mathematical algorithms used by every insurer in the U.S. Living in insurance-hell Atlanta you'd be a total moron if you actually thought your exposure to risk went DOWN vs up. Want a real dose of reality? Move to New Jersey.. your preimums would triple.

maybe higher claims due to theft, more cars on the road, cost of claims?

why do you think they ar criminal in nature?

cost for insurance is based upon risks and expected payouts.

Is it possible to get auto insurance for a short period?

Is it possible to get auto insurance for a short period?

I need to get auto insurance for my vehicle just so I can get a movers permit for one day. The problem is that I don't want 6 months of insurance nor do I need the car to be insured for more then a day so I can just have it transported. Is there anyway to a days worth of auto insurance?

You can get insurance for any amount of time you want, just call up an insurance company and ask. It may cost more, as they have to do more 'paper wrk'

Can't you buy insurance through the mover? I thought they offered this if you didn't have proof of your insurance? Otherwise maybe you could get insurance and then call and either cancel it or have them put it on hold (tell them the car is broke down). Or maybe getting storage insurance is enough?

No, but you can have it towed or put it up on a trailer and move it that way without worrying about insurance. But once you move it where ever you are going, what then? If it's parked on the road it has to be licensed and insured. Even if you have it in an enclosed garage, what if the garage burns down? Why not insure it and be done with it?

Yes,but you'll pay a high price.Call the insurance brokers for quotes.

I'm researching auto insurance for my area so I can get a basic idea of who to look at for auto insurance quotes. I need a list of insurance companies that provide service to Oklahoma. It'd be more appreciated if it was a list of auto insurance provided to the Oklahoma City Metro area.

Thanks in advanced people. God bless.

There are many good insurance companies that do business in your area.

One of the easiest ways to determine which one will offer you the best rate is to take advantage of some of the free on line quoting services. By filling out an on line quote request they will forward your information to agents and companies in that area who will email, mail or call you with a quote. This is a great to figure out the best deal for you before you ever make an appointment with an agent or company.

As I said there are several sites that you can use like http://www.Insuranceeasy.org. Also there's an article at http://www.saving-hundreds-of-dollars-on-insurance.com/ that lists most of the more reliable free services and companies that will provide you a free quote on line. Plus they explain how to get the best rate.

There are many factors involved in the cost of your auto insurance premium including, where you live, whether the vehicle is garaged and alarmed plus the cost of parts and the power to weight ratio.

Some of the thinks generated on this site are specific to the area of the viewer. Feel free to look, I don't know if it will be much help though.

How much auto insurance do I need if I own a home and some other assests?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

My auto insurance company told me that if I'm in an accident and I don't have enough auto insurance I can be sued and possibly lose my home. I never heard of anyone losing their home because of an auto accident. If I have a good driving record, how much insurance do I really need and can I really lose my home if I don't have enough? and how do you collect from someone who doesn't have any insurance? It seems stupid to carry uninsured insurance if I can sue someone for damages.

Yes, you can sue someone. However, unlike you, they might not have any assets. You may not be able to collect from them if they do not have assets.

You should have the total of all your assets (including the house) or $100,000, whichever is less, in property damage liability coverage.

If the total of all your assets (including the house) is more than $300,000, then you should have $300,000 in bodily injury liability insurance AND have umbrella insurance with limits equal to the total of all your assets (including the house).

If the total of all your assets (including the house) is $300,000 or less, then you should have bodily injury liablity insurance coverage equal to the total of all your assets (including the house).

In many cases an individual can be sued following an auto accident. This where your insurance plays a vital role for you. However, once the limits of your liability coverage are exhausted, you become personally liable for the remaining damages. If the remaining amount is minimal, then you would simply be able to pay them. On the other hand, an auto accident with an injury sustained by one or more occupants of the vehiicle in the US during 2007 resulted in over $375,000 in average insurance settlements. If you only have $100,000 in coverage, you would need to find a way to pay the remaining $275,000. The most valuable asset in most people's lives is their home, and so when you receive a bill for $275,000, there is not much choice.

Like noted before, the person without insurance likely does not have any assets worth suing over when they have an accident with you...so the insurance company takes on the liability and will try to collect from that individual themselves saving you precious time and money.

For auto insurance the most efficient way to get a low rate is do a policy comparison on auto policies. Make sure that you choose similar options with the same limits, car make, zip code, etc so that all things are a good comparison.

What I always recommend is an internet comparison quote at http://www.lowratetoday.com since they have top name insurers and will give several quotes on auto insurance polices.

As much as you can comfortably afford. If you were to have an accident with a bus and injured dozens of people they could take everything you own plus most of what you will earn the rest of your life.

Technically, that is true, but it sounds like they are trying to scare you into buying a more expensive policy. If they are trying to pressure you into spending more, I would look elsewhere.

Yes they can sue you when you dont have enough money to pay the bills caused by the accident,..

Am I required to get rental car insurance if I don't have my own auto insurance?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I am planning to sell my car and cancel my auto insurance. If I want to rent a car, am I required to buy their rental car insurance, since I wouldn't have any other auto insurance otherwise?

Yes Yes and Yes! It's very important to have rental insurance. Let's say you park the car on the street, and come back and its side swipped. They are going to come after you for it But if you have insurance, it should cover it.

you don't need to have auto insurance to rent a car. but you will most likely have to purchase there insurance. even if they dont require you to purchase it i would suggest doing so cuz you never know what might happen. its pretty cheap to no more than a few bucks a day for the minimum.

Yes, they will not let you drive the car without insurance.

I might be wrong but I think you have to have auto insurance to rent a car. I remember haveing to give my auto insurance card to the agent when I rented a car.

Rental cars come with basic insurance. If you want to be covered for any damage which might be your fault, take the additional coverage. No, it's not required, but if you run into a tree you would pay out of pocket to get it fixed.

Yeah, you are require to get it just in case you get in a car accident, but go talk to your insurance, even though you sell your car, you should keep the insurance and use that towards the rental car, it's cheaper than renter insurance.

depends on where you are located, most likey yes. It actually shouldn't cost much though.

no i don't think so, i've rented 2 times before i have auto insurance, but it doesn't cover their car...give me a break they sell seperate insurance to cover their car. but my insurance covers the daily fee for the car. not to insure it.

I'm not sure if it is required, but I would recommend it. Other wise you are responsible for any damage to the rental vehicle.

you have to carry some type of insurance on the rental car. If you don't have your own policy that the car can go under, you will have to purchase the rental insurance through the rental agency.

just to be safe, i would, but make sure you know what you're getting, also, take pics of the rental car, all over , and with the agent in the pics. Guarantee this is Very important. Save your paperwork for 1 year later. Just in case!

What's the best place to purchase both auto and home insurance from?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I'm buying a new home and changing my auto insurance carrier, what insurance company can offer me the best deal when it comes to providing both home and auto insurance in a combo package?

I use State Farm and have for a long time. They aren't the cheapest, but have handled any claims without question and treated me very well. Good luck.

None. You need to get on the phone and call at least 20 different companies and compare their rates and coverage. It takes time but it is the only way to find out. When you narrow it down to 2 or 3 you need to check them out with the BBB and any state or local consumer protection office. Check out Consumer Reports ratings. To get the best rates with an honest company you have to work at it. And check the best rates for combined home and auto and separate. GL.

8~)

Get an insurance broker! There are so many insurance companies with so many different discount options (I know an insurance company in Ohio that gives discount to certain profession) and it's just impossible to compare every single one of them. Insurance broker can do this for you. I am not sure if we are paying them through our premium or what, but I paid substantially less after I used an insurance broker.

If you want to take both auto and home insurances, most of the companies provide you Miltie policy discount. Before taking any insurance I shop around. You can look at www.Geico.com as they give a very competitive premium for the new customers. All state is also very good. At the same time you may have to look at the state you are in. There may be some local insurance companies which can provide you a better quote. Take 3-4 quotes from different companies and then you can choose from.

There is no one "best" or "cheapest" carrier. You'll have to call around, give your social security number to have a credit check, give them the vehicle information, and get a bunch of quotes to figure out which carrier is cheapest FOR YOU

How do I know if my auto insurance company is frauding my?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

My auto insurance company has been charging me fees, rate increases (originally I was told it would be a decrease!), and a whole other mess with the DMV. I have not had any tickets, accidents, or claims. No one has been able to satisfactorily explain to me why this is happening. How do I now if I have a case with the insurance commission/and or a small claims lawsuit?

you can visit the company's official website from where you can know about the insurance procedure / rates etc.

usually the vehicle is insured on the depriciated price and if the same company is continued every year, then they give the no claim bonuses.

There is a unique number called the "Cover Note" number from which you can trakc down your insurance details from the company.

Wish u luck Buddy!!!!

Shop around for a better rate. Rate increases are typical, it's nothing unusual. You have no case with the insurance commission or in Small Claims Court.

You definitely would not have a small claims lawsuit (what would you be suing for??) - but what you should do is discuss with your agent and find out why your premiums are increasing - usually premiums do increase regardless of no claims/no tickets - due to inflation and increased risk assessment. If your insurance agent cannot give you a reasonable explanation to the increase in your premium, you may be able to file a complaint with your state's department of insurance.

More than likely, it is just a standard rate increase and has nothing to do with you personally. In which case, you really can't do anything. If you are unhappy with your current insurance provider, I suggest you shop around. There are plenty of good companies out there that would love your business.

Insurance varies widely by location, driving history, and type of car insured because of this what is cheap for me may not be cheap for you.

The best thing to do is to get an onlint insurance quote at http://www.auto-insurance-knowledge.com/24-hour-insurance-quote-auto.html This will compare all companies in your area and find you the lowest price

Hope that helps!

You would need to shop around to find a good quote.

Can a homeowner's insurance cover an auto stolen because keys were taken from break in to home?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

My friends home got broken into and car keys were stolen and with that stole the vehicle. The vehicle only had liability insurance. Now both homeowners and auto insurance are telling them that they won't pay for that loss. Is this correct in any way? The vehicle has a value of $7K. Would obtaining an attorney be helpful?

I don't think so

If he only has liability, then he is SOL.

wouldnt car insurance cover that?

He should read his policy. My guess is it does not include auto coverage of any sort (like your house burns down with your car in the garage, most will not cover the car)

The homeowner's insurance should cover the value of the keys unless car keys are specifically excluded from the policy. Unfortunately, the car keys are not worth much without the car.

A car parked on the street would not be covered by homeowner's insurance. A car parked inside the home (in a an attached garage) might be covered, but automobiles are probably excluded from the homeowner's policy. Even if they are not, anything worth more than a certain amount (not sure of the dollar figure) is not fully covered unless you have a rider to specifically cover it.

How much is motorcycle insurance compared to auto insurance?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

Just wondering because one of my friends says she only pays half of her auto insurance a month and she is paying $300 and that seems pretty steep.

That is steep, I pay about $50/month for Bike. But depends on the bike, and where you live. My bike is 650cc living in L.A.

Depends on the bike and engine size. A 250 will be pretty cheap. A 900 sport bike expensive.

I pay $86/month for a 2007 1600cc Nomad in Phoenix. That's with a clean record, MSF course and a multi-vehicle discount.

moter cycle is so much more exspensive because there is more acfcidents with motercycles than cars!@!@!@!@!@!

Your friend could save a bunch of money on car insurance by switching to GEICO.

It depends on many things....the replacement cost of the bike, her driving record, and her credit.

Some motorcycles cost as much as a car so they can be pretty pricey to insure! Also, the more cc's the bike, the more it cost to insure.

Tell her to try Progressive Direct....they have some of the best motorcylce rates

Depends on the bike and the driver.

I had a 1995 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 that I paid $70 a year for liability insurance. Full coverage was about $220/year.

I could never find car insurance that cheap even for a beater.

However, I have heard of cases where an 18 year old pays over $3000 a year for a newer model Ducati.

Overall, it just depends.

ahaha

Just liability on my cycle was only $79.00 a year. Cheap.

Hey, I ride a motorcycle and its awesome. The insurance is so much cheaper on motorcycles than cars its crazy, But not only that, you save money on gas because they only cost like ten bucks or less to fill and they get good gas mileage.
