Can you resume your auto insurance policy one it was canceled?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

Can you resume your auto insurance policy one it was canceled? ok it was canceled 5 months ago I wasn't using the car so I didn't need insurance at a moment. Now I am planning on using the car again. Can I just call them and ask them to send me a monthly fee and get insurance resumed or do I need to go to insurance place and talk to Insurance sales agent and pay $200 finders fee again? I don't want to pay those fees again. Is there a way to resume my insurance without those extra fees. I am a California resident.

You will have to start a new policy with a new application. You should call around and get another agent. The $200 finders fee is excessive. Our agency used to charge a fee of $20 for new assigned risk policies ONLY because of the large amount of paperwork, low commission and high cancellation rate. We would never charge that on any other policy. Pick up the phone book & call other agents. Call someone that has a list of companies they represent under their name. When you call ask if they charge a finders fee. If they do, call someone else. I was under the impression that "finders" fees are limited. Call the CA Dept of Insurance to find out if they are limited in CA.

You won't be able to avoid a new application but you certainly should be able to avoid a finders fee. Sounds like maybe you had a broker that doesn't represent any companies. Agents get paid on commission from the companies they have an agency agreement with, they don't need to charge insureds additional fees.

It depends on what company you are with and their reinstatement policies. Where I work, if the policy was cancelled less than six months, it can be reinstated with the same policy number and coverages. If cancelled more than six months, we write a new policy. So your best bet is to call your agent and ask him/her if your policy can be reinstated or if you need a brand new policy.

I have never heard of a finder's fee either, of course that could be a Cali thing, I'm not sure. I think I'd go to another company that doesn't require that, if possible.

no you must get new insurance.

As a Geico employee our policy as well as most other ins. companies, there is a grace period of 7 days. If you reinstate within 7 days of the cancellation date you can get the same rate but you must pay 2 months upfront. After that grace period we will reinstate you but there are additional fees which you must pay upfront along with 2 months upfront. After 90 days you pretty much have to sign up from the beginning. keep in mind if you stick with the same company they will be charging you a higher rate because of your negligence in paying.

No. You must reapply and be issued a whole new policy.

IN MOST STATES IF YOU LET THE INSURANCE EXPIRE FOR MORE THAT 30 DAYS YOU WILL HAVE TO START THE PROCESS ALL OVER AGAIN AS IF YOU NEVER HAD ANY TO BEGIN WITH.

No, you will have to take out a new policy for coverage.

Never heard of a finders fee charged by an insurance agent or company. Just call an agent or company and apply and ask for down payment with balance due monthly.

Hope this helps

How does auto insurance work when you "loan" your car to another?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I have been thinking of "loaning" my car (which I own) to my 87 year old father. I would then lease a vehicle for myself. Then at the end of the lease period (let's say 3 years) if he is no longer driving, the car returns to me. Can he purchase auto insurance on himself and the car or does it fall upon me and my policy? My father has an excellent driving record and so do I.

Call your insurance company to see if you can add him to your policy or if he would be covered under yours. Each state is different so ask them. And GO DAD!! 87 and an excellent driving record, those 2 things don't usually go together.

he needs to be owner or added to policy by owner to be covered.

Depends on the insurance company. Some policies like mine (State Farm) cover the car no matter who drives it as long as you voluntarily give them the car (in other words, it wasn't stolen.) Other insurance companies will only insure the car if you are the driver, many will even exclude other members in your household. If you recall them asking you to identify other household members and you named your father when you first signed up, that is probably what they were doing.

You should be able to determine what applies in your case by reading the policy. If you can't find it or don't understand it, call your agent for clarification. Your situation may be further complicated because you may run into problems being considered the "primary" driver of the vehicle, especially if you lease another at the same time so be sure to explain this to your agent.

he can purchase a policy for himself in the USA.

He would need to get his own insurance for the car, or to be added onto your policy as a driver.

Either one would work, but it might be cheaper (and easier) to add him to your existing policy.

Your coverage (in most cases) would not pay for any damage done to or done by the car while Dad is driving.

Can the auto insurance company pay me directly for my medical expenses or do they have to pay the doctor?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I was in an auto accident and I have medical insurance. My medical insurance covered my medical expenses; however, I wanted to know if the auto insurance is still liable for those expenses? It seems as if my having medical insurance should benefit me and not the liable party's auto insurance company. If I did not have medical insurance the auto insurance company would still have to pay for those expenses. So shouldn't they still have to pay for those expenses and I get what ever is left that my medical insurance company did not pay? Are there any laws statures that back this up in Georgia? I am trying to settle this claim without getting an attorney and I need all the help I can get. Any advice would be helpful. I am in the process of writing a demand letter. Thanks for all the help.

Your medical insurance provider will collect from the insurance company of the driver who caused your injuries. This process is called subrogation. It is standard practice throughout the US.

You are not entitled to dual benefit from your injuries. Go ahead and consult an attorney -- he or she will almost certainly tell you the same thing.

If you have a pain and suffering claim, that would be paid by the insurance company of the at-fault driver, assuming that there is any room left on his liability coverage. If he had minimum liability that's probably been exhausted already. An attorney can help with that part of your claim if need be.

Yes and no. The medical bills should be refunded to you by the other person's medical insurance if they were found at fault. Have your lawyer (or you) send a demand letter w/ a copy of the medical bills (before insurance took care of the cost). Then you will receive a ck from the auto insurance company to you for your bills.

usually if your medical insurance paid for it the auto insurance will pay your medical company back for what they paid.

They call that double dipping don't they? Not nice and all that does is raise insurance costs for everybody. Greed.

I can't state the insurance laws of Georgia but pretty much the rules and regulations with most of the major insurance companies are alike. First of all your a fool for not getting a lawyer if you were involved in a auto accident. The lawyer works for you in getting top notch dollar in sueing the insurance company on your behalf. True you probably could settle without an attorney but the insurance can take advantages of you of all kinds and not even tell you about it. They may make you an offer where as if your greedy, you will sign an affadavit of not taking them to court. Someone who acts as their own lawyer is a fool. They can even sue the opposing party to which you had an accident with. They can get you lost wages as well if your out of work for any length of time. Do not make demands upon any major insurance company as for it wouild be like sticking a knife in your own heart. As far as paying for your medical bills, yes under the no fault act which all drivers must carry, they are responsible to pay the hospital and the doctor directly for your medical bills. Don't be greedy and stay cool and get an attorney as for he is there looking out for your well being and your best interests.

What auto insurance company has cheap rates for adding a 16 year old first-time driver to an insurance plan?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

We live in Florida, and my son has just turned 16, He wants to get his licenses but we don't want our insurance to go up too much. From what I hear it is very expensive, yet i hear other people saying that some auto insurance company's have very cheap rates for adding a first time driver. So if there are any other parents that know of a company that they use that is pretty cheap please let me know.

Thank you.

I recommend you locate a local car insurance agent to help. Since I live in Kentucky I can't suggest an agent in Florida, but here is an website that can help you. http://www.easyautoinsuranceguide.com/Florida-Car-Insurance.html

Good Luck!

My niece who lived with me for a while was on my insurance and then got her own. she got cheaper for having good grades on her report card they never checked but she did have good grades and when and if you decide to go to college they are even cheaper if you keep up the grades. Another way to keep insurance down is to go to the drivers ed classes at school they take off for that too.

My niece had Erie

It will be cheaper to add him to your policy than to get a separate one.

none. the age is a big factor.

Is the auto-insurance claim information shared if I switch the insurance company?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

Hi!

I am with auto-insurance company X right now and due to few number of insurance claims that I had made, my insurance is going up. I am wondering if I try to switch to some company Y, will X share my claims information with Y?

Thanks!

Most of the time, yes they will find those prior claims.

Many insurance companies participate in a national database that tracks claims. They will also check you MVR records of any tickets or accidents. It is very difficult to slip one past an insurance company.

Fraudulently stating fewer claims than you actually have is not a good idea. If you filed another claim and the prior ones were discovered, they could deny the new claim, back charge you a higher rate, and/or cancel the policy on the spot.

Because your rate went up due to the claims, it's not a bad idea to shop around, just make sure they are rating you with knowledge of those prior claims.

Your driving record (including accidents, tickets and filed claims) is public knowledge and is kept on a database through your state. Most states use the same database so that your driving record is basically public knowledge.

While Insurance company Y doesn't get information directly from Insurance company X, all they have to do is look up on the database to find all of your tickets, claims and accidents.

Basically, you shouldn't lie on your application because you won't get away with it.

Yes. Most insurance companies subscribe to a service called "CLUE". It's basically a data bank where companies share claim information with each other.

Most companies will order a "CLUE" report before issuing your policy and find out that you have had previous claims. It is always a good practice to go ahead disclose this information up front, if not the rate that you are quoted will not be accurate.

I would suggest getting as many quotes as possible!

Because rates vary hundreds of dollars with companies you might be surprised to find out that by comparison shopping your maybe able to get insurance through another company without seeing a huge increase.

As mentioned already the key is to getting as many quotes as possible. The easiest way to do this is by using free on line insurance rating services. I read a statistic that people who use these services usually save an average of 30%-40%. If that holds true for you then it basically you would most likely be able to keep your rates close to what you are currently paying.

There is a consumer site that I came across at: http://www.InsuranceEasy.org that has links to free quoting services that are reliable. By using each of the links listed on their auto insurance page you will end up with the 5 or 6 best quotes from hundreds of companies.

Hope this helps!

Of course! One of the questions in the applicationt that must be answered truthfully is similar wording to "please list all accidents you have been involved in as a driver, whether at fault or not, in the last #x years". They also ask for the approximate amount of any claim associated with the accidents. Some companies want 3 years, some 5, and they do check. If they issue a policy immediately based on falsed information, you would receive a registered letter within days, possibly cancelling it, or increasing premiums substantially. In my office, sometimes I would fax an application and receive a phonce call back within half an hour asking why a certain accident hadn't been declared by the applicant.

THE ANSWER IS YES!!!!! 99% of all insurance carriers report to a service similar to a credit bureau. Then all the other companies can pull your DRIVING RECORD which is what the DMV has on record for you and a CLUE REPORT which is a record of claims and accidents (shows everything from major accidents down to towing and rental claims). I hope this helps.

yes they will find it. when you get a quote they may not run your reports so its up to you to be honest about any points or accidents on your record. if you dont tell them they WILL run your records when the policy is issued and then your premium will be higher than the quote and they have the right to cancel the policy with notice. its probably better for you to wait until your record is clean again before you switch

Auto Insurance?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I recently bought a car and I have no idea what auto insurance is good and has great deals. Can anyone help me? Keep in mind I'm on a budget. Does anyone know what is a good company for me?

You can try:

Freeway Insurance

Esurance

Progressive

The General

Dashers

These are all cheaper insurance brokers. In the end it will mostly depend on the coverage you need, where you live, you're driving record, etc.

Some of the better but more expensive companies are:

AllState

AAA

Farmers

State Farm

You can find top companies offering cheap auto insurance from http://www.nationwidebillrelief.com

http://ww2.aaa.com/scripts/WebObjects.dll/ZipCode.woa/wa/route

http://www.geico.com/

both seem cheaper than others, but shop around..they are all different

I go through Progressive Auto Insurance they are great. I got into an auto accident that was not my fault. They were on top of it. Now there is State Farm Insurance which is okay. They are high priced, and if you get into an auto accident they use crap parts for your car. American Family Insurance is the worst. They took 3 months to get me my money when a lady hit me who went through there auto insurance which meant I did not have a car for 3months. Thank Goodness for progressive auto insurance who gave me a rental car. Your choice who to go through. I enjoy being with my Insurance Company.

Check out insurance brokers in your area. They have access to multiple companies and can find cheap coverage for you.

If your car is more than five years old, collision insurance isn't the best deal. If you get it, go for a high deductible.

Be sure to get uninsured motorists coverage.

The premium you pay will be determined by several factors, including your age and where you live (in most states).

There are essentially two important factors when evaluating insurance companies: 1) cost of premiums, and 2) customer service, particularly when you've submitted a claim. Some companies are good at #1 and not good at #2. Some are good at #2 but not good at #1. Some are good at both, some are not good at either.

Comsumer Reports magazine (consumerreports.org) has done a survey on insurance companies that you may find useful.
