What is the most popular and best auto insurance broker in NYC? Any recommendations? What is the advantage?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

By best, I mean the lowest priced rate they can come up with. What is the advantage I get going to a broker instead of directly going to a popular auto insurance company? Thanks a lot.

The best thing to do is to ask friends & colleagues who they use for their insurance. If you have a tenants or co-op policy, go to that company first. Travellers is a good company and used to have decent rates in NY. I was from NJ & one of my insureds moved to Manhattan & his rate went down with Travellers. They work through independent agents. Look in the phone book under insurance & start calling. You don't necessarily want the cheapest rate (remember you get what you pay for), you want the best coverage for your situation. You want a good company that will be there to help you if you have a claim. Good luck to you. If I were still in the area, I may have known someone but unfortunately, I am not anymore.

How long will it take for your auto insurance cost to go down?

How long will it take for your auto insurance cost to go down?

Depends why it went up.

If it was just high because you were a new driver, then usually it will go down at age 25 or when you have 7 years of experience.

If it went up because of a violation or accident, then it will go down after you demonstrate a consistent, safe driving record for 3-5 years.

There are many items that are used to calculate insurance premiums and these vary from state to state and from company to company. Common items are where you live, coverages selected, age of driver, your maritial status, use of vehicle, driving record, claims paid, also the year and make of the vehicle comes into play for physical damage coverage.

who knows when the gas prices go down and goverment stops being selfish

What auto insurance company is the best to sell for and why?

.

I'm thinking about getting into auto insurance sales. Anyone with knowledge know which company offers the best perks, leads, commission etc?

every company will have a different benefits, some may be commissions, some may be benefits, some may be how well known they are. You need to consider all when starting out. I have worked for a couple of companies, I will tell you that if you work for a company that is well known it is worth a getting a paid a little less so that you don't have to continually try to explain who your company is, I would start with a big company till you have some experience then you can move out to possibly an independent roll. Don't get stuck with the get rich quick attitude that most manager will tell you. I wish you luck in your decision

There are lots of compaines that are best to sell, just that you got to choose the right one that suits you the best.

What type of Auto Insurance covers vandalism and damage to a car?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

What kind of Auto insurance covers damage to your vehicle, such as vandalism, theft, collision from another car hitting yours while parked?

Comprehensive coverage or FTC (Fire, Theft, Comprehensive) covers vandalisms, theft, fires and things of that nature. If your car (parked or otherwise) is struck by another, you would use your Collision coverage. If your car is struck in a hit and run or by a uninsured driver, Uninsured Motorist.

Collision covers the obvious collision. However uninsured/under insured motorist coverage (which needs to be purchased on top of comp and collision) provides extra coverage for YOU and your car in the case that you are a victim of a hit and run, or someone hits you that has no insurance, or too little insurance

Comprehensive sometimes called "other then collision" covers all other perils such as vandalism, theft, or if you hit an animal (cow, bird, etc) where another vehicle is not involved.

This is the case in Florida and you should talk to your insurance agent. a good agent will be happy to take the time and explain the coverages you are purchasing for your state.

Collision coverage provides coverage for an insured's vehicle that is involved in an accident, subject to a deductible. This coverage is designed to provide payments to repair the damaged vehicle, or payment of the cash value of the vehicle if it is not repairable. Collision coverage is optional. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is the term used by rental car companies for collision coverage.

Comprehensive (a.k.a. - Other Than Collision) coverage provides coverage, subject to a deductible, for an insured's vehicle that is damaged by incidents that are not considered Collisions. For example, fire, theft (or attempted theft), vandalism, weather, or impacts with animals are types of Comprehensive losses.

Here in the U.S. collision covers, well, collisions and comprehensive covers theft, hail, flood, fire, vandalism, etc.

What homeowners and auto insurance do you recommend?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I am shopping for homeowner's and Auto insurance. Progressive is the cheapest, and I like the fact that they cover pets that are riding in your car too. I am looking at them as well as Ameriprise, and Amica. Allstate and Nationwide seemed high, State Farm and Gieco will not give me Earthquake coverage which is a must. Thank you.

Foamy

As per insurance the best way to find out would be through a comparison site, fill in the one form, get many quotes, see what suits you best. It saves plenty of time.

Try getting it bundled together with your car insurance if you can, and home.

Just spend a bit getting quotes, the service is free so use it then go for what suits you best, here's some I have in my bookmarks:

http://cars.guidearticles.com/insurance-comparison.htm

http://gsx1.com/Car-Insurance/100.html

you'll find more in google

good luck

By reading a recent survey, I have discovered that the highest satisfaction with car insurance (not that anybody likes car insurance) goes to Allstate. As for homeowner's insurance I can't really tell because I dont know where you live. I hope I helped.

I am a Nationwide agent. They are definitely not the cheapest, so if price is your only concern, forget about them. However, if you want to make sure you're going to be well taken care of in the event of a claim, go with Nationwide.

LOL They cover PETS riding in your car? For WHAT? I haven't heard of that one.

I wouldn't start to make a recommendation, I have NO information about you, to base it on. Except that you have pets.

You can try this company.. Found as i browse for some insurance company and they leave a great impression though.

Why Defensive Driving Course Certificate can't be used to get an auto insurance discount in Texas?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I passed this course in the middle of 2007 and got this certificate, but i can't use it as one of discount factors when i am gonna to buy an auto insurance. The licensed auto insurance agents told me that Defensive Driving Course Certificate can't be used to get more auto insurance discounts for Texas? Why? It's so weird. So, why Texans need to take that course besides for a court when i got a speeding ticket?

You can't use it to get a discount if you used it to dismiss a ticket. And maybe your company just doesn't offer that discount. Not all companies do, so shop around. Texans only need to take the class if they are ordered by a judge to not have a ticket go on their record.

I also find it strange that you are able to shop for rates online. Typically you can put in your information, but they cannot quote rates online for the state of Texas yet. It has to come from a representative of the company who is licensed.

Because Texas sucks and is the right wing arm pit of the earth.

Auto Insurance discount along with online traffic school course?

I got a traffic ticket, want to remove it. I heard some where that online traffic school course offers auto insurance discount along with traffic ticket dismissal. Can any one suggest me the source where I can get information on this?

For the most part the traffic ticket dismissal course is not the same one to get an insurance Discount. The dismissal course is longer and more thorough regarding laws, and signs, and DUI and all that Jazz. The course for getting a discount is usually called a Defensive Driving course where they go above and beyond the basics of traffic school and tech you the skills necessary to avoid accidents and stay safe. This site offers a Insurance Approved Defensive Driving Course for Discounts. http://www.getdefensive.com

Hello Adams,

When you received a traffic ticket and ordered to complete online traffic school course by the court in the respective states whether you are belongs to California, Florida, Texas, Virginia or other state in United States, when you finish your online course and by submitting the certificate of completion insurance companies will provide you the 10% to 20% auto insurance discount.

So you will gain two benefits from the course, one is you will dismiss the traffic ticket and other one is automatically you are eligible for receiving discount on your insurance.

Auto insurance company that wants me to pay upfront?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I need general information concerning auto insurance complanies that pay claims directly to the driver. They want me to absorb all costs (repairs, rental, etc.) and then they will issue me a "reimbursement" check. I don't want reimbursed for something that their insured driver did to me! I just want them to cover all costs associated with the claim! What, if any, legal action can I take to have the matter proceed in my favor?

File it through your ins co. You will pay the deduct but your ins will cover the costs and get reimbursement from the other ins co.

here take a look for best auto insurance co...

You don't need legal action, you just need to speak with the adjuster handling the claim. If you insisted that they pay the claim immediately they may have suggested paying for all costs yourself and then after they were done with their investigation of the accident they would reimburse you.

Call the adjuster back and speak with them regarding the claim. If you still need help, call your own insurance agent for advice

Most of the times that companies request that are still trying to determine liability. Now, depending on your insurance coverages. If you have collision coverage on your vehicle, you can go through your insurance company and then pay your deductible. Then your insurance company will go after the other company. If you have liability only, you should be able to wait until they have determined fault and are willing to pay the body shop. Now, if you are wanting to go to your own body shop, that may be another reason that they are wanting you to fix it and reimburse you. Most companies will require that you pay any rental car coverages up front and then get reimbursed for that. Check the laws in your state regarding the reimbursment issue.

What's the big deal? They're going to reimburse you. Sure it's inconvenient but in the end they're paying. Just remember you have a duty to mitigate your damages which means paying for your repairs & rental costs upfront if need be & being reimbursed later, or have your insurance do it on your behalf assuming you have the proper coverage. If you wanted to sue, you'd still have to incur the expense first.

How much do you pay for auto insurance?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I just spent a few hours getting an auto insurance quote from a number of companies. I got a real good rate ($573 for a whole year) for our 2004 car and all the extras.

I think this is a pretty good rate but wonder if others are paying more or less.

How much are you paying?

Try to check this out. An auto insurance company, i heard to offer good coverage.

That rate depends on what the policy you chose covers you for.

I think the first thing to do is to check your state for the mandatory insurance requirements and start from there.

If you want to lower the cost and you know you are a good driver, you should try lowering your deductible, asking for discounts (good driver, safety features, etc) and picking the type of coverage you want wisely.

I'm not sure this is a great forum for comparing your rates to others. Someone who lives in NYC is going to pay alot more than someone in Boise, Idaho (more cars = more accidents) Also, your vehilce is surely different than what other people drive so you are not going to be comparing oranges to oranges. (Also everyone has different coverages and deductibles)

All things considered $573 for a year seems like a pretty low number. I would just double-check that you have sufficient coverages.

You may want to contact a local independent agent to make sure you are not getting covered for less than you expect.

I live in Houston, Tx and I am a 22 year old male. I pay $140 a month for a 2008 Honda Civic EX.

It seems like the rate you got is really cheap but I am not sure where you live. Insurance rates vary greatly depending on where you live. It's good that you are doing your research though that way you can find the best rate possible.

It definitly helps to shop around. I was paying twice as much as I am now; including car and homeowner's insurance.

$90 a month for a 2007 Ford Focus.

How soon do I need auto insurance after getting my Driver's License?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I'm going to be getting my Drivers License for the first time in a week (I am 16), and I was wondering how soon after I get my license do I need to have auto insurance to drive legally? I'd like to be able to drive the day I get my license, but my parents don't want to add me to their insurance plan beforehand with the possibility of me failing the exam. Is their any kind of grace period that allows me to drive the day I get my license so I can wait until after I complete the test to purchase insurance?

This is weird..... I can't remember how I did it.

Either.....

A. You are suppose to be insured already because you are operating it with a permit

or

B. The vehicle just needs to be insured in general, and when you get your license you can be added to the insurance immediately. Your name needs to be on the policy before you can drive alone though.

Depends what state you reside in, however you shouldn't need to purchase a policy for yourself until you own a car, by borrowing your parents car you should be covered under their policy unless you drive it everyday.......so basically without getting into the complicated insurance speak, you can drive legally as soon as you get your license and get an insurance policy when you have a car you drive all the time

How can I renew my auto insurance in the State of Florida?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

My six month policy is due to expire next month and I need full coverage for my 2004 toyota corolla. I have never had to do this before, any tips or anything I can do as far as renewing my auto insurance in the state of florida?

Where did any of you read anything in the question about moving to Florida? Not even implied in the question.

You will get a renewal notice and a bill shortly before your policy is due to expire, anywhere from 2 weeks to 30 days before. Just pay the bill and it's renewed. If you don't get a notice, call your agent.

The correct answer is to call your insurance provider. If you are moving to Florida, have them hook you up with an agent there. You should be able to seamlessly transfer and update your policy. You should even be able to pay the premium over the phone or online to bring your coverage up to date, with all the appropriate coverage to qualify for "full" coverage under Florida statutes.

Hope this info helped.

They'll almost certainly just send you the new policy along with a bill. Pay the bill by the due date, that's all. If you don't have the new policy in hand 2 weeks before the old one expires, just call your agent and ask. They'll hook you right up.

if you are moving to florida you will have to get tags and insurance in florida.go to any car insurance places.they are on every corner.look in the yellow pages.

What is the best rated auto insurance in California and why?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I'm having trouble finding ratings by people regarding their auto/home insurance. I'm located in Southern California. I don't mind paying a premium for better coverage.

That's because there aren't any.

There's no one top "best" insurer, as "best" is in the eye of the beholder. To many people, it means cheapest.

Every person is different. Depends on what you drive, what county you're in, your credit score, driving history, claims record, etc etc etc. So my auto insurance costs 42 a month but say you have bad credit yours might be 82 a month. Call a local independent agent and they'll get you a good quote.

There is no one "best" or "cheapest" carrier. You'll have to call around, give your social security number to have a credit check, give them the vehicle information, and get a bunch of quotes to figure out which carrier is cheapest FOR YOU

I switched auto insurance companies recently and I was just wondering if there is any reason at all I should keep my old auto insurance bills from the old company. I'm the one who HATES clutter and I want to get rid of things I don't need anymore. Thanks.

I recently changed to AAA. If no claim pending it is not necessary to keep the old bills. But keep policy number for a couple months for refernece if need be.

I now use the plastic shoe boxes to weed out things then go through boxes and thin more later. I label each one, such as bills paid, autos, bank, charge accounts, phone, utilties, TAX reciepts, house repairs, Working well for me so far.

Actually, the BILLS are no good in ANY case. The POLICY itself may be worth keeping around for a while. It's just worth keeping your old account numbers. You don't need to keep all the paperwork. If for any reason you do need it again, you have your account number, so you can phone the insurer who will have a copy and either get them to give you the information on the phone, or they can send you a copy.

There are only 2 reasons to keep the insurance bills. First reason would be if you are in business for yourself and they are being used as a tax write off. ( 7 years for records )

The second reason would be if you payed on a monthly bases and had the interest to write off. ( 5 years for personal )

In what ways does buying a car affect auto insurance premiums?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I'm looking at buying or leasing a new car and am wondering how that'll affect my auto insurance premium. Also, which features in a new car affect the premium. I've heard about red paint and sports cars causing higher premiums, but are there any other factors?

The car affects the premium. New cars are worth more than cars several years old, so they cost more than older ones. High priced cars cost more because the potential loss is much greater than for that of lower priced cars. Sports cars cost more because they're supposed to have more accidents. I'm not sure that's true, but that's what the people who set the rates think. Also, cars that are stolen alot have high premiums. You also affect the premium. Do you have a good driving record? That lowers premiums somewhat. If you're middle aged or older, your premiums are usually lower because older people are considered safer drivers than young ones. I'm not sure that's true, but again, that's what the people who set the rates think! Hope this helps ya!

When buying a new car, your premiums are based off of the year, make, model, value of the vehicle as well as off of the age, gender and driving record of the buyer. Red will not cause a higher premium and a sports car will only have a higher premium if you purchase comprehensive and collision coverage.

Thos eguys were right about how it effects your premium. I am looking into buying a new car too and called my insurance company and they gave me the premiums for a bunch of different make/models that i am considering.

If you are financing your car then you have to get full coverage I believe so this is something you definitely want to consider!

Which auto insurance companies will not cancel policy/raise rates if there is an accident?

I am comparing prices for car insurance. I have had State Farm forever. After talking to them and asking them what I should look for when shopping for car insurance is a policy that wont cancel you or raise rates if you have an accident. We have made claims in the past (storm damage and I hit a tree stump - no actual vehicle to vehicle accidents) and our rates have not gone up. Do other companies do the same? What about Traveler's Auto Insurance?

this one will not cancel policy/raise rates if there is an accident http://finance.ebookorama.com/ukusa-selected-resources.php get a quote now it's free

I do know that in Ohio, AAA Auto Insurance Company will overlook one claim per driver on the policy if they are also a member of the AAA Motor Club.

This is one of the best deals that I have seen from an auto insurance company. You could have 5 driver with one accident each and they aren't going to charge you for it.

None of them.

Each company has their own underwriting guidelines. But anytime you have a wreck, there is a possibility that your rates will go up. Depending on how the wreck happened, you could get can celled.

No reputable insurance company is going to promise you up front that your rates will not go up or that you will not get can celled should you have a wreck.

Hi Christy,

What is the best way to be an auto insurance agent and get licensed?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I need a midllife career change. I want to get my auto insurance license and to be trained. What options do I have?

I would call the large carriers, Allstate, State Farm, etc. They will hire a new agent and help you open an office if they think you have what it takes. You can even buy a book of business.

I would pick the company with the best training and the best mentor/sales manager.

You go to your state insurance department website to get the information on how to get licensed - you basically just have to pass a test.

But if you have no experience, and no sales experience, you're not likely to get a company willing to let you sell their insurance.

To be trained, you basically have to get a job selling insurance for someone who already has the contract. They'll keep half your commission, but they'll service the accounts, and teach you about insurance. DEFINATELY the way to go, with no experience.

You can study and get licensed on your own. You should be able to go to your state's dept of insurance website and get information about getting licensed. It's also possible that you can work through a company to licensed to. I'm an agent with State Farm and we look more at the quality of an employee rather than if their already licensed. Most agencies will pay for your licensing once they've decided to hire you.

You're best bet is to start by working with another agent and learn the industry. I usually post ads on craigslist when I'm hiring.

Many companies out there will offer to make you an agent right away, but very few "green" agents make it.

Work for another agent for at least a year and then you'll be much better prepared to start an agency.

Got to study for the license exam which is called personal lines. Find a insurance staffer in your local community who can place you with an agency to sponsor you for the test.

You may be out of luck. In order to extend the statute, the only thing you could have done is sue before the 2 yr date. Many summons & complaints come about 2 weeks or a month before the statute runs out. You can contact a lawyer but I would think that it would be too late now & he or she should tell you that.

You should have settled. After the expriation date has passed they have NO obligation to negotiate with you OR a lawyer.

What is the best way to conduct a transaction without getting the auto insurance involved?

What would be the best way of conducting a transaction without getting the auto insurance involved for an accident?

Person hit me and neither of us want to report it to our auto insurance. They don't trust that I won't report it to the insurance after I get paid from him.

What should I do?

If you feel he is at fault I would just report it to your insurance. You hear too many stories of people getting screwed over because they tried to be nice to the person that smashed their car. If this guy strings you along for a month or two you will find it difficult to do anything legally at that point.

Just make sure it's a cash transaction in case he changes his mind. I would take cash if it he offered the appropriate amount. If he wanted to cheap out on me then I would say it's either this ammount or I would have to report it to get my car fixed.

Make a release, stating that you were paid $xx.xx from Mr Soandso on this date for damages from an auto accident arising on such and such date. State that you are releasing the person and their insurance company from any other claims

Both of you sign it and have it notarized

When Changing auto insurance company, do they ask me to go through inspection on my vehicle?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I'm thinking about changing my auto insurance company soon. I'll probably go to online to get a quote and the insurance.

When I looked through all the questions they ask for the quote, I noticed that they ask if there are any damages on the vehicles.

(There are few scratches here and there on my vehicle.)

If I answer that there are, they would ask me how did it get them and tell me that I should report those accidents.

But I don't want to report and I don't even want to fix them.

Therefore, I know it's an immoral act but I want to answer that there aren't any damages.

So here comes my question,

After the applications and all, do the insurance company ask the driver to go through the auto inspection?

If you need or want collision coverage, they will ask for photos of the vehicle from both sides straight on, front and rear straight on and three-quarter views from every corner. Therefore, you're better off telling them about any damage on the car. That way, they protect themselves from spurious claims for pre-existing damage.

http://www.analogstereo.com/cheap_car_insurance.htm http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20070517205847AAbZOMO&kid=E4F6KFXHDFgDFNDc8Odz&s=comm&date=2007-06-29+07%3A58%3A24&.crumb=

It depends , if your getting FULL coverage they will want an inspection , if your getting liability they wont care , since they arent insuring the car , just you.

you can try to contact a local agent and tell him/her your situation. you can shop thru several agents and you choose where you would want to buy insurance from.

I just put full coverage on a new vehicle i purchased and only had liability on the previous car. They did not ask for pix of the new car, but this is through the same ins. co. It all depends on what they're policies are.

In Ontario, Canada, how does auto insurance work? Do you need to insure yourself as a driver and your car separately? If anyone can help me with the details of this, that would be great. Thanks!

Yes you insure the car and yourself as the driver and then can add drivers and more coverage to the policy if you want to.Basically you must get a standard coverage such as 1 million dollar liability or basic coverage if driving it.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way shop around for quotes but be careful if you've a bad drivers record etc bec checking with too many places can be like lowering your credit rating or status and end up not in your favor.

If you want to give me more info such as your age , driving history, number of years driving and last time covered etc I might be able to recommend a company but going through an insurance brokerage can help a lot too.

ve a friend who is getting his licence back in April and he was told it may cost $7000.00 a year for auto insurance- could it be true?

Insurance is baed on the amount of RISK.

Someone with a conviction (and if license was taken away he was convicted) is more likely to have a accident and a serious one so the the risk is higher.

People who are higher risk pay more.

Poor credit rating = high risk = pay more intrest on cards and home loans -- becuase thye are more likley to not pay the money back.

Previous accident or moving violation, or DUI then more likely to file claim for insurance.

Young and foolish - more likely to have accident so pay more.

High performance sports car ? - pay more.

Middle aged, professioanl, with minivan -- pay less.

That's why sex offenders cant be around kids, and thiefs cant work in banks, fire-bugs cant be firemen.

Obese, old, smokers pay more for health/life insurance-- cause they use more. Sky diver -- we dont cover that.

It goes up, yes. How much, that depends on your provider. If it's outragiously high, he can look around for other coverage, he doesn't HAVE to keep the one he has. But that doesn't mean other insurance companys will definatly be cheaper, but it's possible.

Anyway tell him to shop around, he might find something better.

But yeah $7,000, that's not too surprising for someone that was DUI. A bit on the high side from what I've heard, but not surprising at all.

I bet he won't do that again, good lesson for him..

Oh and let me add...My insurance doubled because someone else was DUI in my car and wrecked it. I was not driving it, nor was I even it. Yet MY INSURANCE went up and stayed up for 6 years. All because of HIS DUI....

So yeah, sorry, I gotta say whether or not you're "convicted" really doesn't matter. not in CT anyway.

Hard lesson to learn -- but that is the truth...

Because after a conviction for a charge like that, you are now, for the next 3 years at least, a risk to the insurance company, and also probably required to do an SR22 filing with the state. That makes you assigned risk. $7 grand a year sounds a bit high, but there may be other factors I'm not aware of. So yes, it could be true.

I just came accross this website, a lot of info on Auto Insurance Quotes which may help you:

http://the-auto-insurance-quotes.blogspot.com

Just the charge won't do anything to your record, but a conviction will.

If he's young and has a conviction like that, I think he's telling the truth.

I don't know where you live, but here in California a DUI arrest and conviction costs an enormous amount of money in terms of court and legal fees. Once all that is settled then the insurance companies get involved and the figure you are quoting doesn't sound far off at all. I think their rational is that considering the huge liability that the drinking driver presents that they need to charge exhorbitant fees to protect their interests.

THE ONLY WAY TO REALLY FIND OUT IS FIND OUT

Yup cause your risk went up

How much do auto insurance agents make there first year?

.

What's the average for starting license auto insurance agents? Do they only make commision or hourly too? Are the leads provided. Is it a hard industry to get into?

Breaking into insurance sales is very tough. Many agents have parents who own agencies, and learn the business that way. Many more work for an insurance company in marketing, etc. This allows them to learn the business, and then they can buy out an agency. There are a few companies that are willing to hire and train you. But those opportunities are few.

The best way for a person without connections or years of experience to break into the field is to get a customer service rep (CSR) position at an existing agency. The pay isn't great, but the knowledge you gain will help you work your way into an agent position.

Agents work for commissions only. This is why there is a high failure rate. It take awhile for an agent to build up renewal commissions to be able to earn enough money to live on. As for leads, some companies are better than others. But in the end, if someone has a solid lead, they aren't going to give it to you, they will take it themselves.

Texas- Whatever you are able to hustle up, that is what you are paid on. Agents are commission only, sometimes with a supplement from the company that must be repaid if certain sales goals are not met. Become an agent only if you have the time and financial means to weather the first 2-3 years. The turnover rate is high because it is hard to build a book of business. But once you do, the sky is the limit. Also, you MUST be a people person and be able to handle rejection on a daily basis. You will get abundantly more "NOs" than "YESs" over the course of your career. As for leads, don't ever count on someone else to provide you with your bread and butter. If leads are given, take them. Plan on getting nothing but what you work for.

Arizona. First year expect to start as a C.S.R. making about ten ,twelve bucks an hour. Second year, maybe you can be running the agency making sky is the limit. How do I know? I am an insurance agent in Arizona. That is what I do with my employees, that is what was done with me. Thank you.

Leads are not usually provided. Average is probably about $5,000, because MOST wash out the first year. Those who make it into a second year, probably make about $30K on auto.

It's usually straight commission.

No doubt the easiest way to get insurance quotes is on the web.

Why would you waste your time on the phone calling around?

the last time i needed quotes on insurance i used one of these comparison sites and it was great.

this is the site i used and it was quick like less than 5 mins.

The last thing I want to do is listen to elevator music while waiting for a salesman.

Anyway I got good quotes and ended up saving money so I was happy.

So shop around and compare quotes which is easy on the net.

Good starting point is at this site.

How do I make an auto insurance claim for scratches through auto owners?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I bought a used car a few months ago that had a near flawless finish. Over the past few months it's been scratched several times by my nephew on his bike. We've talked and now I need to file a claim with my insurance. The marks are everywhere, back of the trunk, right rear quarter panel, hood, left rear quarter panel.

The problem is, before I knew I could claim damages, I used a touch up kit to cover the scratches and gouges so they are hard to see. But I could still take pictures of them as they stand now and probably get a letter from the salesman, proclaiming the condition that he told it to me in. What else do I need to file a claim with Auto Owners? Yes, I have full coverage, including comprehensive.

I would settle out of pocket or pay for this yourself, each one of these scratches is a separate occurrence... which means for each scratch before your insurance will pay anything you have to pay your deductible for comprehensive/other that collision coverage. Typically this is $500 or so for each scratch... in the end your only going to end up with a higher premium and nothing from your insurance company to show for it.

Are you filing against your policy or theirs ? If yours, you will probably end up with a higher premium for many years which will offset whatever you collect.

You need to call your insurance company and open a claim. They may send an independent adjuster, but as it's just scratches, I doubt it. They'll probably tell you to take it to a shop that will fax the estimate to them. They have a list of how much the repairs should cost and as long as the estimate is within the limits, you should be okay. You'll have to pay any deductible and they will want to know how the damage occurred. Also, if the damage occurred while the car was parked in a driveway, they may want the owner of the home to use their homeowner's insurance to settle the claim.

If you make a claim, your rates may rise. Either get the entire car painted or you will go broke trying to keep the scratches off. I would talk to your sibling about the scratches and maybe use a little switch on the tyke. Every time he scratches your car, scratch his bike. He will eventually stop

Insurance claims lesson #1: each and every loss event is a seperate claim with a seperate deductible. Even if you have zero deductible your claims frenquency will soar and you will risk either being non-renewed or super high premiums. Don't think you can shark the inspector either -- they can tell old, touched-up damage from fresh damage. My advice is to make your brother/sister pay for the damage....

First of all, comprehensive coverage will not cover someone scratching your vehicle. Comprehensive is an act of nature or by a wild animal such as a deer.

As others have said, It would not be cost effective nor would it be smart to run this through your insurance under your collision insurance.

I would strongly suggest having the parents pay for this out of pocket. Maybe even check into their homeowners insurance paying for it.

Why can auto insurance companies discriminate on the basis of age and sex, but not ethnicity or race?

.

If you're a teenage male, you're doomed if you want to get auto insurance. You will pay exorbitantly more because the statistics say that you are more of a hazard. So you are not judged as an individual, but as a group of people.

I'm sure statistics can also show that certain nationalities and races are worse drivers -- case in point: Asians. And I'm part Asian, so I can make fun of my own people. =)

If insurance companies are always willing to discriminate on the basis of age and sex, why not race or ethnicity?

Because as soon as they even dare mentioning race or ethnicity they'll get accused of racism, possibly get sued over it by someone and possibly made to pay $2 mil by some great judge.

This, they do not want. I know it is not fair but our society isn't exactly fair.

Anyway, most teenagers won't be seen dead in an "uncool car". But if you get an "uncool car" you can pay cash for it, get liability only on it and your premiums will BEAT your 57 year old dad's (if he's financing a $40.000 SUV)

So not all is lost for the clever teenager.

You could start your own Insurance Carrier and start charging nothing, I am sure all 16 years old boys will love you. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20090212180007AANVsbK&kid=F4ZxHk34IjTd9nCrci_M&s=comm&date=2009-02-18+00%3A09%3A05&.crumb=

Here in British Columbia the government auto insurer cannot base a person's auto insurance rate based on their age or gender. Only on use and years licensed. However this is done based on being politically correct and trying to appeal to the voter, not based on any research or sound insurance principles.

If you can provide a link to your research that shows that race plays a factor in accident frequency and severity we would all be happy to review it. Somehow I doubt you'll provide such a link since there is no research that shows such. However there is plenty of statistics to show that age and gender do play a role.

Some states, they can't discriminate based on sex.

The reason why, is because statistics do NOT show that certain nationalities and genders are worse drivers. Calling Asians bad drivers, is perpetuating a racial stereotype.

Trust me, if the raw data DID show corrolation between race and claims, like credit scoring, they would do it.

Also - second thought. Without genetic testing for each driver, it would be darned hard to prove 'race'.

What would lawyer costs for an auto insurance company be?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I'm trying to work out a settlement with the auto-insurance company over an injury that happened last December. They're offering $3,500, but we want $5,000. I was wondering how much it would cost them in legal fees, and lawyer costs if we were to bring this to court. It could help in our bartering if we know they'll be saving money just settling. Thanks.

Some insurance companies consider a lawyer's fees the cost of doing business. So they don't really give that consideration when they value a claim.

They also know that if you hire a lawyer and sue - you will have to pay your lawyer 1/2 of your settlement plus expenses - a smart adjuster will point it out to you that to you. Be careful trying to ague that the insurance company should give you more because you are saving them legal fees -the company can use that argument back against you. Because if you hire a lawyer - you have to pay him as well.

Lawyers for insurance companies charge around $125 an hour for work they do. You will have to pay 1/3 of any settlement you get to an attorney. How long have you been in negotiations?? Is there come compromise between the $3500 the insurance company is offering and the $5000 you want?? The insurance company may want to go to court as they may feel they will prevail at a hearing and you will get nothing at all. If you case is weak, the insurance company could prevail. Especially if you had some negligence in the injury such as not wearing a seat belt or you were on your cell phone. Keep discussing settlement with the adjuster, being persistent can sometimes get the result you want.

They already have lawyers on the payroll, so it doesn't really cost them anything extra.

The fact is that insurance companies can always out-lawyer claimants. Realistically, you'll be better off to settle, but perhaps you can counter-offer for something in between.

It's not costing them ANYTHING in legal fees - they have staff attorneys to take care of it.

I had a client once that was in your shoes.

He wanted $10,000 and the company offered $8000.

It went back and forth, back and forth and finally, he said "Well, I'll get an attorney.!!"

The company paid the $10000 - HIS attorney got $4000 and HE got $6000..........

You make the call....

Good luck and I hope this helps!

Will auto insurance companies try to lapse you if you leave them?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I heard that auto insurance companies will cancel your policy, causing you to lapse, if they find out you are leaving them, is that true? I am planning on buying a new auto policy this week that will go in effect on Apr 1 and faxing in my request to cancel my current policy on that same day, am I safe?

There are lots of places where you can get a free insurance quote. http://www.goodinternetdeals.com/Auto-Insurance.html It only takes roughly 10 minutes to do.

Yes, you're safe, it's against the law for the company to just cancel you for no reason before that time. I know that in my state (and I believe most others) they are required to give you at least 30 days notice of canceling your policy unless it is for nonpayment of premium.

Yes, you are safe. Any unearned premium from the cancelled policy will be returned to you and any premium you may owe will be billed to you. All legitimate auto insurance carriers will honor your request promptly and correctly and hope that you consider them again in the future to insure your car.

For car insurance the most efficient way to get a great quote is do a rate comparison on auto policies. Make certain that you compare similar policies with the same deductibles, car type, zip code, etc so that all options are a good comparison.

What I usually recommend is an online comparison quote at http://www.lowratetoday.com since they have big name insurers and can give several quotes on car insurance polices.

They can not cancel your policy unless you have defaulted in some way.

No, they can't do that.

If you're paid up until April 1, no, they can't.

Can new auto insurance company find an incident not reported with DMV but claimed with current insurance comp?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I want to change my auto insurance comp, i have claimed an accident with it for which i did not get a ticket. So will it matter if I don't report it to the new company while asking for quotations? Do insurance companies talk to each other or share data?

It is probably a matter of public record, and yes, they share information between companies. If you don't report it, and they find it, you have committed fraud. If you don't report it, and they don't find it, and you ever make a claim, it may turn up then and would be cause to deny your claim.

Bottom line, tell them now.

mine did. i am pretty sure all of your record would be on file and available to your new insurance company.

Yes, People claim trees fallen on there car and you would never call the dmv for anything not on the road. But you still made a claim you got to tell them.

yes, they'll find out. They will run a CLUE report - comprehensive loss underwriting exchange - insurance companies report all claims to this agency, and get reports. They put in the vin number for your car, your name, and your address. They will pull up all claims for that vin, all claims under your name, and all claims paid out at your address.

UNFORTUNATELY COMPANIES RUN CLUE REPORT. WITH THIS THEY PRETTY MUCH CAN FIND OUT WHO LIVES WITH YOUR ANDY CLAIMS MADE ETC.

NOW... IF YOU GO TO AN AGENCY YOU CAN TRY ASKING FOR A COMPANY THAT DOES NOT RUN CREDIT CHECKS. SOME TIMES ANY PREVIOS VIOLATIONS OR ACCIDENTS WONT COME UP AND THEY WILL JUST BASE IT STRICTLY ON THE MVR.

IF YOU ARE CALLING AGENCIES TO GET A QUOTE JUST TELL THEM THE VIOLATIONS THAT COME UP IN YOUR MVR AND ONCE THER THEY WILL LET YOU KONW IF THERE ARE ANY CHANGE.

GOOD LUCK

What would be best amount of auto & homeowner insurance to have including umbrella coverage in NJ?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

What would be best amount of total coverage to carry for auto insurance and homeowners insurance including an umbrella policy. I realize claims are skyrocketing, and I don't presently have an umbrella policy. Would like to know what I should be targeting. Thanks!

Well, no one here knows you! I can tell you what I usually tell people: you take out half million limits on your auto and homeowners, then get the umbrella policy with whatever REAL limits you need. It's not hard to buy million dollar increments, up to ten million. After that, it can be done, but it's harder.

You need to have an umbrella policy that covers your assets, PLUS three to five years income. So. Figure out what your stuff is worth, and add your projected income for the next three years, and round up to the next million.

Try getting in touch with a local insurance agent or two to help you analyze your situation. You are smart for considering an umbrella. Most people don't think about that. You can get quotes from a couple of different agents in your area by going here - http://www.myinsurancequotes.net.

Hope that helps!

Jared Balis

Why are auto insurance companies allowed to get away with such criminal practices?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

After moving into inner Atlanta because I've grown tired of a completely car dependent lifestyle, my auto insurance went from 70 dollars a month to nearly 160 based solely on my location.

Not only is this unfair and stupid, it seems to me to defy logic. I would think the suburban commuter who is spending lots of time in his car every day is more prone to claims than me, who barely has a reason to use my car anymore.

Ridiculous.

Take a close look at your policy to see which coverages went up. I'll bet there was a big jump in comprehensive coverage, which covers theft. Also, metropolitan areas are almost always higher than suburban areas because of more congestion which causes more accidents. Insurance companies don't just randomly pick rates for certain areas, they have to back it up with their claims data when filing their rates with the state insurance department. If you really feel this is criminal then file a complaint with your state insurance department. if they feel the increase is not justified they will investigate and if your company is really doing something wrong it will get rectified.

The inner city has heavier traffic, and usually higher risk of theft. Companies keep records dating back decades, and do underwriting every year based on records of theft and accidents in every area of the country, on every model and year of vehicle sold, for all types of driving by all age groups with all different levels of insurance.

Just think how happy you would be if you moved from a high-risk area into a low-risk one, and had a premium decrease!

Insurance rates are based largely on where you live/drive. They have determined (and probably correctly) that their risks for claims are higher there than where ever you lived/worked previously. BTW, I don't particularly like insurance companies but surely you know that they are not practicing "Criminal practices".

You simply don't have a clue about the mathematical algorithms used by every insurer in the U.S. Living in insurance-hell Atlanta you'd be a total moron if you actually thought your exposure to risk went DOWN vs up. Want a real dose of reality? Move to New Jersey.. your preimums would triple.

maybe higher claims due to theft, more cars on the road, cost of claims?

why do you think they ar criminal in nature?

cost for insurance is based upon risks and expected payouts.

Is it possible to get auto insurance for a short period?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

Is it possible to get auto insurance for a short period?

I need to get auto insurance for my vehicle just so I can get a movers permit for one day. The problem is that I don't want 6 months of insurance nor do I need the car to be insured for more then a day so I can just have it transported. Is there anyway to a days worth of auto insurance?

You can get insurance for any amount of time you want, just call up an insurance company and ask. It may cost more, as they have to do more 'paper wrk'

Can't you buy insurance through the mover? I thought they offered this if you didn't have proof of your insurance? Otherwise maybe you could get insurance and then call and either cancel it or have them put it on hold (tell them the car is broke down). Or maybe getting storage insurance is enough?

No, but you can have it towed or put it up on a trailer and move it that way without worrying about insurance. But once you move it where ever you are going, what then? If it's parked on the road it has to be licensed and insured. Even if you have it in an enclosed garage, what if the garage burns down? Why not insure it and be done with it?

Yes,but you'll pay a high price.Call the insurance brokers for quotes.

What Auto Insurance Companies Service in Oklahoma?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I'm researching auto insurance for my area so I can get a basic idea of who to look at for auto insurance quotes. I need a list of insurance companies that provide service to Oklahoma. It'd be more appreciated if it was a list of auto insurance provided to the Oklahoma City Metro area.

Thanks in advanced people. God bless.

See this http://gsx1.com/InsuranceComparison.html take the quote, they'll come back with prices from different insurers in your area. It's very quick and free of charge.

But to find a cheap price you should get several quotes, do some legwork till something better will come along.

Here's more from my bookmarks

There are many good insurance companies that do business in your area.

One of the easiest ways to determine which one will offer you the best rate is to take advantage of some of the free on line quoting services. By filling out an on line quote request they will forward your information to agents and companies in that area who will email, mail or call you with a quote. This is a great to figure out the best deal for you before you ever make an appointment with an agent or company.

As I said there are several sites that you can use like http://www.Insuranceeasy.org. Also there's an article at http://www.saving-hundreds-of-dollars-on-insurance.com/ that lists most of the more reliable free services and companies that will provide you a free quote on line. Plus they explain how to get the best rate.

There are many factors involved in the cost of your auto insurance premium including, where you live, whether the vehicle is garaged and alarmed plus the cost of parts and the power to weight ratio.

Some of the thinks generated on this site are specific to the area of the viewer. Feel free to look, I don't know if it will be much help though.

How much auto insurance do I need if I own a home and some other assests?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

My auto insurance company told me that if I'm in an accident and I don't have enough auto insurance I can be sued and possibly lose my home. I never heard of anyone losing their home because of an auto accident. If I have a good driving record, how much insurance do I really need and can I really lose my home if I don't have enough? and how do you collect from someone who doesn't have any insurance? It seems stupid to carry uninsured insurance if I can sue someone for damages.

Yes, you can sue someone. However, unlike you, they might not have any assets. You may not be able to collect from them if they do not have assets.

You should have the total of all your assets (including the house) or $100,000, whichever is less, in property damage liability coverage.

If the total of all your assets (including the house) is more than $300,000, then you should have $300,000 in bodily injury liability insurance AND have umbrella insurance with limits equal to the total of all your assets (including the house).

If the total of all your assets (including the house) is $300,000 or less, then you should have bodily injury liablity insurance coverage equal to the total of all your assets (including the house).

In many cases an individual can be sued following an auto accident. This where your insurance plays a vital role for you. However, once the limits of your liability coverage are exhausted, you become personally liable for the remaining damages. If the remaining amount is minimal, then you would simply be able to pay them. On the other hand, an auto accident with an injury sustained by one or more occupants of the vehiicle in the US during 2007 resulted in over $375,000 in average insurance settlements. If you only have $100,000 in coverage, you would need to find a way to pay the remaining $275,000. The most valuable asset in most people's lives is their home, and so when you receive a bill for $275,000, there is not much choice.

Like noted before, the person without insurance likely does not have any assets worth suing over when they have an accident with you...so the insurance company takes on the liability and will try to collect from that individual themselves saving you precious time and money.

For auto insurance the most efficient way to get a low rate is do a policy comparison on auto policies. Make sure that you choose similar options with the same limits, car make, zip code, etc so that all things are a good comparison.

What I always recommend is an internet comparison quote at http://www.lowratetoday.com since they have top name insurers and will give several quotes on auto insurance polices.

As much as you can comfortably afford. If you were to have an accident with a bus and injured dozens of people they could take everything you own plus most of what you will earn the rest of your life.

Technically, that is true, but it sounds like they are trying to scare you into buying a more expensive policy. If they are trying to pressure you into spending more, I would look elsewhere.

Yes they can sue you when you dont have enough money to pay the bills caused by the accident,..

Am I required to get rental car insurance if I don't have my own auto insurance?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I am planning to sell my car and cancel my auto insurance. If I want to rent a car, am I required to buy their rental car insurance, since I wouldn't have any other auto insurance otherwise?

Yes Yes and Yes! It's very important to have rental insurance. Let's say you park the car on the street, and come back and its side swipped. They are going to come after you for it But if you have insurance, it should cover it.

you don't need to have auto insurance to rent a car. but you will most likely have to purchase there insurance. even if they dont require you to purchase it i would suggest doing so cuz you never know what might happen. its pretty cheap to no more than a few bucks a day for the minimum.

Yes, they will not let you drive the car without insurance.

I might be wrong but I think you have to have auto insurance to rent a car. I remember haveing to give my auto insurance card to the agent when I rented a car.

Rental cars come with basic insurance. If you want to be covered for any damage which might be your fault, take the additional coverage. No, it's not required, but if you run into a tree you would pay out of pocket to get it fixed.

Yeah, you are require to get it just in case you get in a car accident, but go talk to your insurance, even though you sell your car, you should keep the insurance and use that towards the rental car, it's cheaper than renter insurance.

depends on where you are located, most likey yes. It actually shouldn't cost much though.

no i don't think so, i've rented 2 times before i have auto insurance, but it doesn't cover their car...give me a break they sell seperate insurance to cover their car. but my insurance covers the daily fee for the car. not to insure it.

I'm not sure if it is required, but I would recommend it. Other wise you are responsible for any damage to the rental vehicle.

you have to carry some type of insurance on the rental car. If you don't have your own policy that the car can go under, you will have to purchase the rental insurance through the rental agency.

just to be safe, i would, but make sure you know what you're getting, also, take pics of the rental car, all over , and with the agent in the pics. Guarantee this is Very important. Save your paperwork for 1 year later. Just in case!

What's the best place to purchase both auto and home insurance from?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I'm buying a new home and changing my auto insurance carrier, what insurance company can offer me the best deal when it comes to providing both home and auto insurance in a combo package?

I use State Farm and have for a long time. They aren't the cheapest, but have handled any claims without question and treated me very well. Good luck.

None. You need to get on the phone and call at least 20 different companies and compare their rates and coverage. It takes time but it is the only way to find out. When you narrow it down to 2 or 3 you need to check them out with the BBB and any state or local consumer protection office. Check out Consumer Reports ratings. To get the best rates with an honest company you have to work at it. And check the best rates for combined home and auto and separate. GL.

8~)

Get an insurance broker! There are so many insurance companies with so many different discount options (I know an insurance company in Ohio that gives discount to certain profession) and it's just impossible to compare every single one of them. Insurance broker can do this for you. I am not sure if we are paying them through our premium or what, but I paid substantially less after I used an insurance broker.

If you want to take both auto and home insurances, most of the companies provide you Miltie policy discount. Before taking any insurance I shop around. You can look at www.Geico.com as they give a very competitive premium for the new customers. All state is also very good. At the same time you may have to look at the state you are in. There may be some local insurance companies which can provide you a better quote. Take 3-4 quotes from different companies and then you can choose from.

There is no one "best" or "cheapest" carrier. You'll have to call around, give your social security number to have a credit check, give them the vehicle information, and get a bunch of quotes to figure out which carrier is cheapest FOR YOU

How do I know if my auto insurance company is frauding my?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

My auto insurance company has been charging me fees, rate increases (originally I was told it would be a decrease!), and a whole other mess with the DMV. I have not had any tickets, accidents, or claims. No one has been able to satisfactorily explain to me why this is happening. How do I now if I have a case with the insurance commission/and or a small claims lawsuit?

you can visit the company's official website from where you can know about the insurance procedure / rates etc.

usually the vehicle is insured on the depriciated price and if the same company is continued every year, then they give the no claim bonuses.

There is a unique number called the "Cover Note" number from which you can trakc down your insurance details from the company.

Wish u luck Buddy!!!!

Shop around for a better rate. Rate increases are typical, it's nothing unusual. You have no case with the insurance commission or in Small Claims Court.

You definitely would not have a small claims lawsuit (what would you be suing for??) - but what you should do is discuss with your agent and find out why your premiums are increasing - usually premiums do increase regardless of no claims/no tickets - due to inflation and increased risk assessment. If your insurance agent cannot give you a reasonable explanation to the increase in your premium, you may be able to file a complaint with your state's department of insurance.

More than likely, it is just a standard rate increase and has nothing to do with you personally. In which case, you really can't do anything. If you are unhappy with your current insurance provider, I suggest you shop around. There are plenty of good companies out there that would love your business.

Can a homeowner's insurance cover an auto stolen because keys were taken from break in to home?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

My friends home got broken into and car keys were stolen and with that stole the vehicle. The vehicle only had liability insurance. Now both homeowners and auto insurance are telling them that they won't pay for that loss. Is this correct in any way? The vehicle has a value of $7K. Would obtaining an attorney be helpful?

I don't think so

If he only has liability, then he is SOL.

wouldnt car insurance cover that?

He should read his policy. My guess is it does not include auto coverage of any sort (like your house burns down with your car in the garage, most will not cover the car)

The homeowner's insurance should cover the value of the keys unless car keys are specifically excluded from the policy. Unfortunately, the car keys are not worth much without the car.

A car parked on the street would not be covered by homeowner's insurance. A car parked inside the home (in a an attached garage) might be covered, but automobiles are probably excluded from the homeowner's policy. Even if they are not, anything worth more than a certain amount (not sure of the dollar figure) is not fully covered unless you have a rider to specifically cover it.

How much is motorcycle insurance compared to auto insurance?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

Just wondering because one of my friends says she only pays half of her auto insurance a month and she is paying $300 and that seems pretty steep.

That is steep, I pay about $50/month for Bike. But depends on the bike, and where you live. My bike is 650cc living in L.A.

Depends on the bike and engine size. A 250 will be pretty cheap. A 900 sport bike expensive.

I pay $86/month for a 2007 1600cc Nomad in Phoenix. That's with a clean record, MSF course and a multi-vehicle discount.

moter cycle is so much more exspensive because there is more acfcidents with motercycles than cars!@!@!@!@!@!

Your friend could save a bunch of money on car insurance by switching to GEICO.

It depends on many things....the replacement cost of the bike, her driving record, and her credit.

Some motorcycles cost as much as a car so they can be pretty pricey to insure! Also, the more cc's the bike, the more it cost to insure.

Tell her to try Progressive Direct....they have some of the best motorcylce rates

Depends on the bike and the driver.

I had a 1995 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 that I paid $70 a year for liability insurance. Full coverage was about $220/year.

I could never find car insurance that cheap even for a beater.

However, I have heard of cases where an 18 year old pays over $3000 a year for a newer model Ducati.

Overall, it just depends.

ahaha

Just liability on my cycle was only $79.00 a year. Cheap.

Hey, I ride a motorcycle and its awesome. The insurance is so much cheaper on motorcycles than cars its crazy, But not only that, you save money on gas because they only cost like ten bucks or less to fill and they get good gas mileage.

Can you resume your auto insurance policy one it was canceled?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

Can you resume your auto insurance policy one it was canceled? ok it was canceled 5 months ago I wasn't using the car so I didn't need insurance at a moment. Now I am planning on using the car again. Can I just call them and ask them to send me a monthly fee and get insurance resumed or do I need to go to insurance place and talk to Insurance sales agent and pay $200 finders fee again? I don't want to pay those fees again. Is there a way to resume my insurance without those extra fees. I am a California resident.

You will have to start a new policy with a new application. You should call around and get another agent. The $200 finders fee is excessive. Our agency used to charge a fee of $20 for new assigned risk policies ONLY because of the large amount of paperwork, low commission and high cancellation rate. We would never charge that on any other policy. Pick up the phone book & call other agents. Call someone that has a list of companies they represent under their name. When you call ask if they charge a finders fee. If they do, call someone else. I was under the impression that "finders" fees are limited. Call the CA Dept of Insurance to find out if they are limited in CA.

You won't be able to avoid a new application but you certainly should be able to avoid a finders fee. Sounds like maybe you had a broker that doesn't represent any companies. Agents get paid on commission from the companies they have an agency agreement with, they don't need to charge insureds additional fees.

It depends on what company you are with and their reinstatement policies. Where I work, if the policy was cancelled less than six months, it can be reinstated with the same policy number and coverages. If cancelled more than six months, we write a new policy. So your best bet is to call your agent and ask him/her if your policy can be reinstated or if you need a brand new policy.

I have never heard of a finder's fee either, of course that could be a Cali thing, I'm not sure. I think I'd go to another company that doesn't require that, if possible.

no you must get new insurance.

As a Geico employee our policy as well as most other ins. companies, there is a grace period of 7 days. If you reinstate within 7 days of the cancellation date you can get the same rate but you must pay 2 months upfront. After that grace period we will reinstate you but there are additional fees which you must pay upfront along with 2 months upfront. After 90 days you pretty much have to sign up from the beginning. keep in mind if you stick with the same company they will be charging you a higher rate because of your negligence in paying.

No. You must reapply and be issued a whole new policy.

IN MOST STATES IF YOU LET THE INSURANCE EXPIRE FOR MORE THAT 30 DAYS YOU WILL HAVE TO START THE PROCESS ALL OVER AGAIN AS IF YOU NEVER HAD ANY TO BEGIN WITH.

No, you will have to take out a new policy for coverage.

Never heard of a finders fee charged by an insurance agent or company. Just call an agent or company and apply and ask for down payment with balance due monthly.

Hope this helps

How does auto insurance work when you "loan" your car to another?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I have been thinking of "loaning" my car (which I own) to my 87 year old father. I would then lease a vehicle for myself. Then at the end of the lease period (let's say 3 years) if he is no longer driving, the car returns to me. Can he purchase auto insurance on himself and the car or does it fall upon me and my policy? My father has an excellent driving record and so do I.

Call your insurance company to see if you can add him to your policy or if he would be covered under yours. Each state is different so ask them. And GO DAD!! 87 and an excellent driving record, those 2 things don't usually go together.

he needs to be owner or added to policy by owner to be covered.

Depends on the insurance company. Some policies like mine (State Farm) cover the car no matter who drives it as long as you voluntarily give them the car (in other words, it wasn't stolen.) Other insurance companies will only insure the car if you are the driver, many will even exclude other members in your household. If you recall them asking you to identify other household members and you named your father when you first signed up, that is probably what they were doing.

You should be able to determine what applies in your case by reading the policy. If you can't find it or don't understand it, call your agent for clarification. Your situation may be further complicated because you may run into problems being considered the "primary" driver of the vehicle, especially if you lease another at the same time so be sure to explain this to your agent.

he can purchase a policy for himself in the USA.

He would need to get his own insurance for the car, or to be added onto your policy as a driver.

Either one would work, but it might be cheaper (and easier) to add him to your existing policy.

Your coverage (in most cases) would not pay for any damage done to or done by the car while Dad is driving.

Can the auto insurance company pay me directly for my medical expenses or do they have to pay the doctor?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

I was in an auto accident and I have medical insurance. My medical insurance covered my medical expenses; however, I wanted to know if the auto insurance is still liable for those expenses? It seems as if my having medical insurance should benefit me and not the liable party's auto insurance company. If I did not have medical insurance the auto insurance company would still have to pay for those expenses. So shouldn't they still have to pay for those expenses and I get what ever is left that my medical insurance company did not pay? Are there any laws statures that back this up in Georgia? I am trying to settle this claim without getting an attorney and I need all the help I can get. Any advice would be helpful. I am in the process of writing a demand letter. Thanks for all the help.

Your medical insurance provider will collect from the insurance company of the driver who caused your injuries. This process is called subrogation. It is standard practice throughout the US.

You are not entitled to dual benefit from your injuries. Go ahead and consult an attorney -- he or she will almost certainly tell you the same thing.

If you have a pain and suffering claim, that would be paid by the insurance company of the at-fault driver, assuming that there is any room left on his liability coverage. If he had minimum liability that's probably been exhausted already. An attorney can help with that part of your claim if need be.

http://www.analogstereo.com/cheap_car_insurance.htm http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20061227082404AAaw3rL&kid=E8xuJUrcDGM.gRF4ROfW&s=comm&date=2007-06-29+07%3A51%3A56&.crumb=

Yes and no. The medical bills should be refunded to you by the other person's medical insurance if they were found at fault. Have your lawyer (or you) send a demand letter w/ a copy of the medical bills (before insurance took care of the cost). Then you will receive a ck from the auto insurance company to you for your bills.

usually if your medical insurance paid for it the auto insurance will pay your medical company back for what they paid.

They call that double dipping don't they? Not nice and all that does is raise insurance costs for everybody. Greed.

I can't state the insurance laws of Georgia but pretty much the rules and regulations with most of the major insurance companies are alike. First of all your a fool for not getting a lawyer if you were involved in a auto accident. The lawyer works for you in getting top notch dollar in sueing the insurance company on your behalf. True you probably could settle without an attorney but the insurance can take advantages of you of all kinds and not even tell you about it. They may make you an offer where as if your greedy, you will sign an affadavit of not taking them to court. Someone who acts as their own lawyer is a fool. They can even sue the opposing party to which you had an accident with. They can get you lost wages as well if your out of work for any length of time. Do not make demands upon any major insurance company as for it wouild be like sticking a knife in your own heart. As far as paying for your medical bills, yes under the no fault act which all drivers must carry, they are responsible to pay the hospital and the doctor directly for your medical bills. Don't be greedy and stay cool and get an attorney as for he is there looking out for your well being and your best interests.

What auto insurance company has cheap rates for adding a 16 year old first-time driver to an insurance plan?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

We live in Florida, and my son has just turned 16, He wants to get his licenses but we don't want our insurance to go up too much. From what I hear it is very expensive, yet i hear other people saying that some auto insurance company's have very cheap rates for adding a first time driver. So if there are any other parents that know of a company that they use that is pretty cheap please let me know.

Thank you.

I recommend you locate a local car insurance agent to help. Since I live in Kentucky I can't suggest an agent in Florida, but here is an website that can help you. http://www.easyautoinsuranceguide.com/Florida-Car-Insurance.html

Good Luck!

My niece who lived with me for a while was on my insurance and then got her own. she got cheaper for having good grades on her report card they never checked but she did have good grades and when and if you decide to go to college they are even cheaper if you keep up the grades. Another way to keep insurance down is to go to the drivers ed classes at school they take off for that too.

My niece had Erie

It will be cheaper to add him to your policy than to get a separate one.

none. the age is a big factor.

Is the auto-insurance claim information shared if I switch the insurance company?

.
0 ความคิดเห็น

Hi!

I am with auto-insurance company X right now and due to few number of insurance claims that I had made, my insurance is going up. I am wondering if I try to switch to some company Y, will X share my claims information with Y?

Thanks!

Most of the time, yes they will find those prior claims.

Many insurance companies participate in a national database that tracks claims. They will also check you MVR records of any tickets or accidents. It is very difficult to slip one past an insurance company.

Fraudulently stating fewer claims than you actually have is not a good idea. If you filed another claim and the prior ones were discovered, they could deny the new claim, back charge you a higher rate, and/or cancel the policy on the spot.

Because your rate went up due to the claims, it's not a bad idea to shop around, just make sure they are rating you with knowledge of those prior claims.

Your driving record (including accidents, tickets and filed claims) is public knowledge and is kept on a database through your state. Most states use the same database so that your driving record is basically public knowledge.

While Insurance company Y doesn't get information directly from Insurance company X, all they have to do is look up on the database to find all of your tickets, claims and accidents.

Basically, you shouldn't lie on your application because you won't get away with it.

Yes. Most insurance companies subscribe to a service called "CLUE". It's basically a data bank where companies share claim information with each other.

Most companies will order a "CLUE" report before issuing your policy and find out that you have had previous claims. It is always a good practice to go ahead disclose this information up front, if not the rate that you are quoted will not be accurate.

I would suggest getting as many quotes as possible!

Because rates vary hundreds of dollars with companies you might be surprised to find out that by comparison shopping your maybe able to get insurance through another company without seeing a huge increase.

As mentioned already the key is to getting as many quotes as possible. The easiest way to do this is by using free on line insurance rating services. I read a statistic that people who use these services usually save an average of 30%-40%. If that holds true for you then it basically you would most likely be able to keep your rates close to what you are currently paying.

There is a consumer site that I came across at: http://www.InsuranceEasy.org that has links to free quoting services that are reliable. By using each of the links listed on their auto insurance page you will end up with the 5 or 6 best quotes from hundreds of companies.

Hope this helps!

Of course! One of the questions in the applicationt that must be answered truthfully is similar wording to "please list all accidents you have been involved in as a driver, whether at fault or not, in the last #x years". They also ask for the approximate amount of any claim associated with the accidents. Some companies want 3 years, some 5, and they do check. If they issue a policy immediately based on falsed information, you would receive a registered letter within days, possibly cancelling it, or increasing premiums substantially. In my office, sometimes I would fax an application and receive a phonce call back within half an hour asking why a certain accident hadn't been declared by the applicant.

THE ANSWER IS YES!!!!! 99% of all insurance carriers report to a service similar to a credit bureau. Then all the other companies can pull your DRIVING RECORD which is what the DMV has on record for you and a CLUE REPORT which is a record of claims and accidents (shows everything from major accidents down to towing and rental claims). I hope this helps.

yes they will find it. when you get a quote they may not run your reports so its up to you to be honest about any points or accidents on your record. if you dont tell them they WILL run your records when the policy is issued and then your premium will be higher than the quote and they have the right to cancel the policy with notice. its probably better for you to wait until your record is clean again before you switch
